History of HSOM

The following pages contain highlights of the mixture of real history, Harry Potter Canon and the changes we have made to spice things up a bit

Significant Events

  • 3114 BC - Birth of Darkbeholder
  • 3096 BC - Discovery of Magic
  • 3089 BC - Alleged date that Darkbeholder discovered immortality
  • 3000 BC - Egyptian Wizards form the Priesthood
  • 2630 BC - Egyptian Wizards/Priests advise on the construction of the Step Pyramid at Saqqara and place curses on the sarcophagus
  • 1500 BC - Morrigan escaped from Annwyn to unleash terror upon the world
  • 1480 BC - Morrigan banished back to Annwyn and the portal of the lake was sealed by Vivien - Lady of the Lake sacrificing herself
  • 382 BC - Ollivander's opens for business

  • 420 AD - Taliesen Penn Beird? stops making the yearly offerings to the lake
  • 450 AD - Darkbeholder is named Duke of Aberffraw
  • 1000 AD - Hogwarts School of Magic Founded
  • 1692 AD - International Statue of Secrecy comes into affect
  • 1692 AD - Secret task force established to hunt down any cult performing the 9th Ritual
  • 2002 AD - Darkbeholder is removed from Hogwarts for 4 months. Piprock and Sean Sutherland take control for a short period before Darkbeholder returns
  • 2003 AD - Kacbapy attacks HSOM and is killed. Becomes the Slytherin House Ghost
  • 2005 AD - Morrigan escaped from Annwyn again and turns her attention on Darkbeholder as the last surviving person involved in her banishment
  • 2005 AD - The Talamasca bring down the supporters of Morrigan known as Ordo Draco and Morrigan is eaten by Darkbeholder's dragon destroying her soul for all time
  • 2007 AD - The ministry invade HSOM and hell freezes over. Darkbeholder attempted to skewer one of the ministry agents with the Astronomy Tower

Board History

  • January 14th 2002 - HSOM community created on ezboard
  • April 30th 2004 - HSOM moved to hsom.net running phpbb2
  • July 2007 - Creation of new board as my Major Work for my University Degree begins
  • December 13th 2007 - Moved to new board built on phpbb3. Scored a High Distinction (found out the raw mark was 98%)

I am sure I have missed some events said to be in the past and there are events in both real history and canon that arn't listed here
